The 90 minute workshops were open to anyone who lives in Plymouth.

 

A Little About Susmita Bhattacharya

A Plymouth based British Asian writer, Susmita’s debut novel, The Normal State of Mind, will be launched in March 2015.

Susmita Bhattacharya is widely published with her short stories and poems placed in many literary journals and magazines in the UK and internationally, including the BBC. Susmita has won awards and teaches creative writing in the community such as Plymouth Libraries and the museum, also teaching at the Plymouth University. 
Susmita has a Masters in Creative Writing from Cardiff University and got a nomination for the Pushcart Prize last year.
Susmita also sailed on oil tankers for three years with her husband, writing and painting.
At the moment, Susmita is undergoing treatment for breast cancer and tries to spread awareness of it through her blog.
Susmita has also had book readings at the Plymouth International Book Festival and the Dartington Festival in 2014.
