The Whitleigh Words Writing Contest Winners & Entrants

The Whitleigh Words Festival Writing Contest Winners & Entrants

Thank you and well done to everyone who entered the Whitleigh Writing Contest 2015.

I wanted to run this contest because I believe that for some people it is their only way to express their thoughts and feelings. My hope was to have entries from those who were also not great with grammar and spelling, happily, that is what I got from some entrants and their writings were full of depth and feelings. That is what writing is all about, not being judged on your ability to write or the standard of a person’s education and not being afraid to express yourself! Writing from your heart and soul is the always the best way forward.

Below you will be able to read the nine winning poems, songs and stories.

Joanna Gawn and Ron Dickerson are two best friends who write
~ metaphysical and visionary fiction
~ tales of the magical and the paranormal
~ stories which thrill, empower, uplift, and/or entertain (sometimes all at once!)

Joanna is a Reiki Master/Practitioner, with a background in mathematics, logic, and science.
Health challenges led her to Reiki and subtle energies, opening up a whole new world.
She met Ron, a businessman, Rotarian, ex-rugby player/coach and naturally-gifted healer, through her husband’s interest in classic cars.
As their friendship developed, they began exploring philosophy, energy healing, and the metaphysical … and The Celestine Prophecy books.

Ron Dickerson lives just over the hill from Whitleigh Green, sandwiched between Whitleigh, Southway and Tamerton!

Joanna Gawn lives in Paignton.

You can read more about The Lazuli Portals on their website HERE!

WHITLEIGH WRITERS with Ray Glasson

11081196_10152862230858985_3947793997494626347_n

DUE TO A BREAK IN AT THE Bethany Evangelical Church THE WHITLEIGH WRITERS WILL NOT BE RUNNING UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. OVER £2000 WORTH OF CHURCH EQUIPMENT WAS STOLEN. The people of Bethany have decided to NOT loan out their free rooms anymore.  This is the 2nd break in within the last month.

We would like thank Bethany Evangelical Church for their kindness during our writing group meetings over the past year.

Whitleigh Writers is a brand new group chaired by Ray Glasson, a Whitleigh resident.

This has been a very successful project for Ray as he has 7 – 9 people turning up each week.

Throughout July the Writing Group will take a well earned break but will be back on Tuesday August 4th 2015

Call in to Bethany Evangelical Church, Budshead Road, Whitleigh Green.

The group will meet each Tuesday and be an all-inclusive group, meaning no matter where you live or what level [if any] your writing skills will always be welcome.

ALL WILL BE WELCOME.
